Lambs for Sale

The main line of business of Frisky Lamb Farm is producing slaughter lambs of superior quality right here in Broome County, NY.  We raise our all-grass-fed lambs on pasture using rotational grazing so that they always have lush, fresh grass to eat.  We feed them no grain.  This results in happy, frisky, healthy lambs whose meat is not only tender and delectable, but also healthful because it's high in omega-3 fatty acids.

The price of our freezer lambs is $2.75/lb live weight for 2018.   In 2017, they ranged in weight from about 60 to 80 lbs.  This price includes transportation of your live lamb to the slaughterhouse if you sign up for one of our slaughter dates.  We used Dotti Lou Packing Company in Stevensville, PA in 2017 and we have slaughter dates there this year, too. The slaughterhouse charges a separate fee of $65 for slaughtering, cutting, and wrapping.

You have the option of giving the slaughterhouse cutting instructions.  The weight of the carcass (meat and bones) from lambs of this size is about 40% of the live weight.
Our first slaughter date in 2018 is October 20.  Your frozen cuts of meat will be brought back to Frisky Lamb Farm one week later where you can pick them up. Alternatively, you can pick them up a couple of days earlier directly at the slaughterhouse.

Call or e-mail us to order (see Contacting Us).  A deposit of $50 will be requested to reserve a lamb.

Make sure you have enough freezer space.  A whole lamb in the form of wrapped and frozen cuts of meat takes up only about 2 cubic feet.

We can offer discounts for volume buying.  Contact us to discuss.
